Gujarat Science City is a bold initiative of the Government of Gujarat to realize this priority. The Government is creating a sprawling center at Ahmedabad which aims to provide a perfect blend of education and entertainment. It will showcase contemporary and imaginative exhibits, minds on experiences, working models, virtual reality, activity corners, labs and live demonstrations to provide an understanding of science and technology to the common man.

The Government of Gujarat has established the Gujarat Council of Science City, a registered society, to achieve the Gujarat Science City mandate. The Government is already in possession of 107 hectares of land. Further more 300 hectares of land is being acquired for future expansion of Science City & related projects.

The approach and methodology of the Gujarat Science City is focused on informal community based learning which is different from the formal mode of education. All of the programs are intended to enliven the imagination, foster creativity and develop a spirit of inquiry, especially in young minds. Visitors can discover the wonders of science and technology and have access to the most exciting and contemporary form of entertainment regardless of the social stratum, education or age group and creates a culture of learning Keeping the above in mind, regular activities have been planned and conducted at Science City by involving students, teachers and visitors as much as possible. Keeping the student’s interest and teacher’s approach in mind, GCSC have prepared a complete calendar of scientific event, which are being observed and conducted at the Science City.
